Trenton Channel Power Plant's boiler house demolished in Detroit for DTE Energy's clean energy transition, to be replaced by a 220-MW battery storage facility by 2026.
Shuttered Detroit-area power plant Trenton Channel Power Plant's boiler house was demolished by explosives, creating a wall of dust and flames. The demolition was part of DTE Energy's transition to clean energy, with plans to replace the site with an energy storage facility housing a 220-megawatt battery center, set to open in 2026.
