Suspected wartime bomb discovery in Whiteley Meadows causes train disruptions, later identified as a training device.

A suspected wartime bomb discovered at a housing development near train tracks in Whiteley Meadows, Curbridge, led to train disruptions between Eastleigh and Fareham. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary were alerted at 09:00 BST and a cordon was put in place. The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team made the area safe and found the item to be a "training device." Train services resumed after a brief halt.
