South Korea's Hanwha Group agrees to acquire Philly Shipyard from Norway's Aker Group for $100m, pending regulatory approvals.
South Korea's Hanwha industrial group has agreed to pay $100m for Philly Shipyard, a U.S. navy shipbuilder, from Norway's Aker Group. This acquisition will enable Philly Shipyard to expand globally, and support Hanwha Systems & Hanwha Ocean's defense & shipbuilding activities. The deal is pending approval from the Committee on Foreign Investments in the U.S. and other regulatory requirements.
