Shockwave therapy using a "space hairdryer" device regenerates heart tissue in bypass patients, improving blood pumped by the heart by 11.3%.
A study by Innsbruck Medical University found that a "space hairdryer" device applying mild soundwaves, called shockwave therapy, can regenerate heart tissue in heart bypass patients. This treatment, which takes 10 minutes, stimulates the growth of new vessels around damaged areas, improving oxygenated blood pumped by the heart by 11.3% after a year. Larger trials are planned to confirm these results.
