A Seattle police officer, Burton Hill, was fired in May 2022 for using racist and sexist slurs against his Chinese American neighbor during an off-duty altercation over disposing of dog bones at their condominium complex. The Seattle Office of Police Accountability had recommended various disciplinary actions, from a 30-day suspension to termination, and Hill was ultimately fired by then-police Chief Adrian Diaz.
