Rhode Island regulators have approved the sale of two struggling hospitals, Fatima and Roger Williams, to Atlanta-based nonprofit Centurion Foundation with 40 conditions attached. These conditions include $80m cash financing, hiring a chief restructuring officer, and settling outstanding debts. The sale is expected to return the hospitals to nonprofit status, pending approval from the Health Services Council.
