Recurrent Energy, a unit of Canadian Solar, has secured $513m in financing for a 1,200 MWh energy storage project in Maricopa County, Arizona. The Papago Storage project, set to start construction in Q3 2024, will be capable of powering 244,000 homes for 4 hours a day. With a 20-year agreement in place with Arizona Public Service Company, Recurrent Energy will own and operate the facility upon completion in Q2 2025.
