Ontario Science Centre in Toronto closed due to distressed, high-risk roof conditions.
The Ontario Science Centre in Toronto has abruptly closed due to structural issues with its roof, as an engineering report found some panels in a "distressed, high-risk condition" that could fail under the weight of snow this winter. The provincial government said the decision to close the half-century-old building was made to allow staff to clear exhibits out by October. The building is set to be replaced by a new facility at Ontario Place, scheduled to open in 2028.
