237-million-year-old Parvosuchus aurelioi, a new species of ancient crocodile-like reptile, was discovered in Brazil's "Linha Várzea 2"

Paleontologists have discovered a new species of ancient crocodile-like reptile, Parvosuchus aurelioi, dating back approximately 237 million years. The remains were found in the "Linha Várzea 2" fossil site in southern Brazil and belong to the pseudosuchians group within the gracilisuchids, a genus of tiny prehistoric reptiles. This marks the first unequivocal discovery of its kind in Brazil.
