New PLOS ONE study suggests lifetime LSD use may increase risk of severe psychological distress after job loss. Researcher Benjamin Korman analyzed 15,854 US adults who were unemployed, finding those who used LSD before job loss were 1.6-1.7 times more likely to report subsequent distress compared to non-users. Study limitations prevent drawing conclusions about other types of psychedelics, life stressors, or clinical use of LSD.
