India approves 2,000 tonnes of non-basmati white rice export to Malawi and Zimbabwe through National Cooperative Exports Limited (NCEL), despite a domestic ban on exports since July 2023. The move supports global food security and is consistent with previous aid to Nepal, Cameroon, and other countries. NCEL is a multi-state cooperative society involving major players like AMUL and IFFCO.
