Channel 4's Dispatches found that less than 20% of Gumtree adverts analysed were posted by licensed firms. One van picking up waste daily could make £145k in illegal profits each year. A National Farmers Union survey reported 50% of farmers in England and Wales experienced small-scale fly-tipping.
