Hurunui District Council in New Zealand's South Ward is considering a bypass for Amberley to address traffic issues and growing population. A heavy vehicle bypass was suggested in 41 submissions during the council's recent consultation, but New Zealand Transport Agency advises it's not a current priority. The council is also considering public transport provisions for the town, with mixed views.
