European stocks decline as June economic data shows a slowdown in Eurozone recovery.
European stocks closed lower as economic data revealed a sharp slowdown in Eurozone recovery in June, with manufacturing and services sectors deteriorating. The Stoxx 600 index fell 0.73% to 515.11 and the S&P Global Composite PMI dropped to 50.8 from 52.2 in May. However, UK retail sales volume rose 2.9% in May. The UK's public sector net debt reached its highest since 1961, at 99.8% of GDP last month.
