DGCA revises seaplane regulations, enabling CPL holders to qualify as seaplane-rated pilots for UDAN scheme expansion.
The DGCA has revised regulations to boost seaplane operations, streamlining infrastructure procedures, pilot training requirements, and regulatory compliances. The revised regulations enable Commercial Pilot License (CPL) holders to qualify as seaplane-rated pilots by undertaking training at any ICAO-recognised training organisation globally. This update aims to expand seaplane services to remote, inaccessible areas and support the UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, which offers subsidised air travel in underserved regions.
