CBI registers FIR for UGC-NET exam paper leak case; Education Ministry cancels the examination.
The CBI has registered an FIR into the UGC-NET exam paper leak case, following a reference from the Union Education Ministry. The exam, held by the National Testing Agency on June 18, was for selecting junior research fellows, assistant professors, and PhD scholars. The Education Ministry received intelligence inputs from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) about the paper's availability on the darknet and its alleged sale for Rs 5-6 lakh. The CBI will collaborate with I4C and use its own darknet exploration tools to investigate the case. The Ministry of Education has decided to cancel the examination.
