Canada's Justice Minister, Arif Virani, says he & his colleagues have increased security measures due to threats. He believes current laws, including the Criminal Code, are sufficient to handle threats against politicians, unlike RCMP Commissioner Mike Duheme's suggestion to ease police pursuits. Virani also supports the Online Harms Act, aiming to hold social media platforms accountable for user harm.
