Taiwan's new leader Lai Ching-te's public support dropped to 48% in the first month, down 9.8 percentage points from when he took office, according to a recent poll by Taiwanese Public Opinion Foundation. Lai, from the Democratic Progressive Party, assumed the role of Taiwan's leader on May 20. Another survey by TVBS showed over half of respondents disapproved the performance of DPP legislators.
