Kenyan MP Kimani Kuria, Finance Committee Chair, received KSh168,000 from citizens who sent small amounts to verify his contact details after they shared lawmakers' info to oppose the Finance Bill 2024. Kuria tried to refund but found it difficult due to numerous transactions. He wrote to the National Assembly clerk for guidance and emphasized the violation of privacy rights by sharing personal info.
