Mineral Resources, an Australian mining company, has decided to close its Yilgarn iron ore mines in Western Australia due to reduced financial viability, leading to the loss of around 1000 jobs. The company plans to redeploy affected employees to other iron ore, lithium mines, and its mining services business. The Yilgarn hub, which operates five mine sites, will transition into care and maintenance by 2025.
