Auckland real estate agent Janet Dickson takes industry body to court for requiring Te Tiriti training.
Auckland real estate agent Janet Dickson, who refused to complete a Te Tiriti training course, is taking her stance to court in a judicial review against her industry body. The course, designed in partnership with a local institute, aimed to introduce Māori culture, language, custom, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the real estate context. Dickson's lawyer, Nikki Pender, said her client felt the training offered minimal benefit to the real estate sector as she did not deal with Māori land in her area of practice.
