65-year-old homeowner, Philip Waller, won a 'David vs Goliath' battle against a broadband supplier, Connexin, who put up a 40ft-high pole at the end of his drive without consultation. Waller collected dozens of objection letters from neighbours and lodged complaints with councillors after finding the pole just 16 feet from his living room bay windows. Barnsley Council later confirmed it had been put up without "due process" and ordered its removal.
