25-year-old driver rear-ends golf cart on Folly Beach, killing bride on wedding night; $1.3M settlement awarded to victims.

A judge has awarded a $1.3M settlement to the victims of a Folly Beach crash that killed a bride on her wedding night and injured the groom and two others. The crash, which occurred on April 28, 2023, involved a vehicle rear-ending a golf cart. The driver, then-25-year-old Jamie Lee Komoroski, was found to be going 65 mph at the time. The settlement was partially reached in a wrongful death lawsuit against Komoroski and several Lowcountry restaurants and bars.
