40 WestJet flights cancelled due to potential strike by aircraft maintenance workers.

WestJet has cancelled approximately 40 flights in anticipation of a possible strike by its aircraft maintenance workers, affecting around 6,500 travelers. WestJet mechanics, represented by the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association, have served the airline with a 72-hour strike notice and are set to walk off the job. WestJet has requested the Canadian Industrial Relations Board to intervene and has asked for negotiations to be referred to arbitration to prevent a labor dispute.
