5th Lethal Weapon film in development, Mel Gibson directs, continuing late Donner's vision.
Lethal Weapon 5 is still in development, with Mel Gibson confirmed as the director, taking over from the late Richard Donner. Gibson, who starred in the first four films, will use the existing screenplay, revised by Jez Butterworth, and will address serious issues while maintaining humor. The film is set to be a fitting tribute to the late Donner, who passed away in 2021.
