Recently-elected Punjab MP Amritpal Singh and nine others, detained under the National Security Act (NSA) at Dibrugarh Central Jail in Assam, had their detention extended by a year. Amritpal Singh, who won the Khadoor Sahib seat by a significant margin in his first electoral contest, is linked to the radical Sikh group 'Waris Punjab De'. His detention and that of his associates were initially set to expire on July 24 and June 18, respectively.
