Nigeria's NUPRC extends 2024 oil block licensing deadline with added deep offshore blocks and harmonized criteria for investment.

Nigeria's Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has extended the deadline for the registration and submission of pre-qualification documents for the 2024 oil block licensing round, offering more time for interested investors to prepare their bids. This decision follows the acquisition of additional data on deep offshore blocks, which has led to the addition of 17 such blocks to the licensing round. The NUPRC has also harmonized the criteria for the 2022/23 Mini Bid Round and the 2024 Licensing Rounds to attract fresh investments in the country's upstream oil and gas sector, including offering attractive fiscal regimes and minimized entry fees. All blocks in both the 2022/23 and 2024 Licensing Rounds are available to all interested investors on the NUPRC website.
