NextEra Energy plans to sell $2 billion of equity units at $50 each to fund investments in new projects and potentially to reduce debt. Each unit consists of a contract to purchase NextEra common stock and a 5% ownership interest in a NextEra Energy Capital Holdings debenture. The proceeds, expected to be around $1.94 billion after deducting costs, will be added to NextEra Energy Capital Holdings' general funds for investments in energy and power projects.
