Jaguar Land Rover partners with China's Chery Automobile to revive the Freelander as an electric vehicle (EV) for the Chinese market. The joint venture, CJLR, will produce a new lineup of EVs under the Freelander brand, leveraging Chery's existing EV architecture and production facilities. The electric Freelanders will be sold through a separate dealer network within China, with potential future global exports.
