Governor Tony Evers appoints Cody Kanable, a veteran Green County Sheriff's deputy with 16 years of experience, as Green County Sheriff. Kanable will fill the vacancy created by Sheriff Jeffrey Skatrud's retirement, starting on June 30 and completing Skatrud's unexpired term ending in January 2027. Kanable has held various roles within the department, including canine handler, patrol sergeant, lieutenant, and SWAT team leader.
