BCCLA plans to file a complaint with the Vancouver police's oversight board, alleging excessive force and surveillance during a pro-Palestinian protest.
The British Columbia Civil Liberties Association (BCCLA) plans to file a complaint with the Vancouver Police Department's civilian oversight board, alleging that officers used excessive force during a pro-Palestinian protest last month. The group's policy director, Meghan McDermott, was "horrified" by the police actions and will also cite "ongoing surveillance of people attending" protests and rallies as "intimidating" and "invasive to privacy."
