34-year-old Wicklow man Ryon Fitzpatrick has been jailed for six and a half years for assisting in the transport of €6 million worth of cannabis hidden in a fake shoebox consignment. Fitzpatrick, arrested along with two other men in October 2020 as they prepared to enter a derelict field in north county Dublin, had 13 previous convictions. The drugs were intercepted by customs officials and originated from a shipment from Bilbao, Spain.
