46-year-old Everett Simpson from St. Johnsbury, Vermont, was sentenced to 25 years in federal prison for kidnapping a New Hampshire mother and her child in 2019. Simpson, who had fled a drug treatment facility, stole a van and kidnapped the mother and child from the Mall of New Hampshire. He was later arrested in a stolen car in Pennsylvania. Simpson represented himself during the trial and sentencing.
