23-year-old Darius Smith from Amory, Mississippi drowned in Gulf Shores on Sunday afternoon. Smith was pulled from the Gulf of Mexico at around 1:39 p.m., administered CPR, and taken to the South Baldwin Regional Medical Center Freestanding Emergency Department before being pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m. This marks the second drowning incident in Gulf Shores in two weeks.
