28-year-old Indio man, Alexis Daniel Rosas, was found guilty of first-degree murder and other charges for killing 18-year-old Makayla Jean Massey in 2019 to prevent her from testifying in court. The jury also convicted Rosas of attempted murder, lying in wait, and sentence-enhancing gun and great bodily injury allegations. The co-defendant's jury is still deliberating, and a sentencing date has not been set for Rosas.
