Virginia opens Elder Abuse Investigation Center to address rising elder abuse cases.

Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares announced the first Elder Abuse Investigation Center in Central Virginia, aimed at combating the rising cases of elder abuse. The center will streamline collaboration between law enforcement, connect investigators with medical or financial experts, and provide localities with resources. The number of cases has increased from around 150 to 700 a year, encompassing various forms of abuse, neglect, and financial abuse.
