1 in 10 UK secondary school female support staff report sexual harassment by male students and colleagues, according to a Unison study.

A Unison study reveals that sexual harassment and sexism are prevalent in UK schools, with one in ten female support staff in secondary schools reporting harassment, mainly by male students and male colleagues. Over 2,000 employees across primary and secondary education sectors participated in the survey. Around one in seven school staff reported witnessing sexual harassment in the past five years. Two in five witnesses did not report such incidents due to feeling it was pointless or could impact their career. Unison general secretary Christina McAnea emphasizes the need for parents, staff, and schools to work together to address the issue.
