Trafigura Group, one of the world's largest commodity traders, agreed to pay $55M to settle allegations from the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). CFTC accused Trafigura of improperly obtaining nonpublic info, manipulating the Platts US fuel oil benchmark, and blocking employees from sharing info with regulators. Trafigura neither admitted nor denied the allegations but took steps to enhance compliance.
