40s woman arrested for fraud involving over 100 learner driver permits; 124 instances of impersonation identified since March 2021.
A woman in her 40s has been arrested by the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau in relation to a fraud investigation involving over 100 learner driver permits. Since March 2021, the bureau has identified 124 instances of impersonation, leading to 114 third parties obtaining permits. The Road Safety Authority has voided and revoked all the affected permits, and the arrested woman is due to appear in court.
