Nigerian Federal Government refutes renaming Murtala Muhammed Expressway as Wole Soyinka Way.
The Nigerian Federal Government has dismissed rumors of renaming the Murtala Muhammed Expressway in Abuja as Wole Soyinka Way. The confusion arose from the inauguration of a new road, Arterial Road N20, which links the Outer Northern Expressway (Murtala Muhammed Expressway) to the Northern Parkway, and was named after Nobel laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka. The Murtala Muhammed Expressway remains unchanged and continues to honor former Head of State, General Murtala Ramat Mohammed.
