Greater Sudbury's hot weather response plan has been activated due to a heat alert from Environment Canada. Libraries and citizen service centres will extend their hours from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on June 17 and 18, providing cooling centers for residents. Beaches will have lifeguard supervision, and residents can access Memorial Gardens and the city transit terminal for temporary relief from the heat.
