Galway City Council reopened the Blackrock Diving Tower's middle platform after a contractor closed it due to safety concerns.
Galway City Council corrected a "mistake" by a contractor, which resulted in the middle platform of the Blackrock Diving Tower in Salthill being closed off. The contractor had closed two access points on the middle platform due to safety concerns over people jumping off the middle and top platforms simultaneously. Galway City Council removed the barriers after becoming aware of the issue, restoring the middle platform as a viewing platform.
