Fiji's military has launched an independent Board of Inquiry (BOI) to investigate the grounding of an Australian government-gifted patrol boat, the RFNS Puamau, valued at around $20 million. The vessel struck Fulaga Reef during a two-week patrol exercise, with all crew members rescued and salvage operations underway. The Australian government will cover the cost of salvage operations.
