Curam, an SFI research centre for medical devices at the University of Galway, contributed €756m to Ireland's economy, per a recent economic report. Established in 2015 with initial Govt investment of €64.8m, Curam's economic value grew over a decade, generating €546m in economic activity for Ireland. The research centre helped increase Ireland's attractiveness as a global hub for medtech, one of few worldwide.
