4 Vietnamese state-owned banks introduce online registration for gold purchases from Saigon Jewelry Company, reducing queues.
Since June 17, four Vietnamese state-owned commercial banks (Agribank, BIDV, VietinBank, and Vietcombank) have introduced online registration for gold purchases from the Saigon Jewelry Company Limited (SJC). This change has significantly reduced long queues of gold buyers at bank offices, as buyers now register online for SJC-branded gold transactions. The banks and SJC were previously authorized by the State Bank of Vietnam to purchase SJC gold bars and sell them to the public to maintain market stability and balance.
