South Korea's Naver launches AI Safety Framework (ASF) for assessing and managing AI risks.

South Korea's largest internet portal operator, Naver, has launched an AI Safety Framework (ASF) to assess and manage risks associated with AI, identifying potential hazards as severe human disempowerment and misuse of the technology. Naver will conduct regular evaluations every three months for advanced AI systems, or "frontier AIs," and an AI risk assessment matrix will be applied to check for technology misuse based on system purpose and risk level before distribution. The company aims to improve the ASF to reflect more cultural diversity and support a sustainable global AI ecosystem.
