A new genetic therapy has been developed to potentially reverse giant, debilitating moles in a rare skin condition, congenital melanocytic naevus syndrome (CMN). Researchers silenced a gene called NRAS in trials on mice, causing the mole cells to self-destruct. This treatment could reduce the risk of developing melanoma and could be used for more common types of moles in the future.
