Minneapolis Police Officer Jamal Mitchell, a New Haven native, will be laid to rest in his hometown on 17 June after being killed in the line of duty on 30 May. A memorial service will be held on 17 June at 10 a.m. in New Haven, Connecticut. Mitchell was ambushed and killed while trying to aid a man who had been shot in Minneapolis. He posthumously received the Medal of Honor and the Purple Heart.
