Melbourne Racing Club plans to redevelop Sandown Racecourse into a new suburb with 7500 homes, but local council warns there are insufficient details on flood protection. The 112-hectare site's rezoning proposal is subject to public submissions in a special planning committee set up by Planning Minister Sonya Kilkenny. The project aims to fund a $300m redevelopment of Caulfield Racecourse.
