Finnish insurer Sampo acquires Danish rival Topdanmark in an all-share deal worth $4.73bn.

Finnish insurer Sampo has agreed to buy Topdanmark, a Danish rival, in an all-share deal worth $4.73 billion. Sampo already owns 48.5% of Topdanmark. The deal reflects a 27% premium per share of Topdanmark. The acquisition is expected to result in annual cost savings of €65m for the merged group and a further €30m in higher income per year.
